Donyell Malen was the standout performer as Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma delivered a dominant display against Pisa at the Olimpico. The Dutch forward netted a hat-trick in an outing that frequently suggested a straightforward day at the office for the home side.

Malen set the tone early, scoring just three minutes into the match. After picking up the ball at the edge of the area, he surged forward and finished skillfully under the crossbar, giving Roma an early advantage.
Pisa showed some resilience and managed to create a few counter-attacking opportunities, but Roma’s dominance was clear during a first half they mostly controlled.
The second goal came just before half-time in the 43rd minute, following a well-worked team move. Devyne Rensch delivered a precise pass for Malen, who finished with poise and confidence.
Before the second goal, Lorenzo Pellegrini had struck the crossbar with a free kick, but that was of little consequence as Roma held a strong lead at the interval.

Gasperini made an early substitution after the break, bringing on El Shaarawy for Pellegrini, but the intensity remained high as Roma sought a third goal.
The third goal came in the 52nd minute, thanks to Matias Soulé’s brilliant through ball that sliced through the Pisa defense, allowing Malen to calmly score his third of the night.
Soulé was substituted soon after by Neil El Aynaoui as Gasperini managed his squad wisely with the match already in hand. Rensch was also replaced by Angelino in the closing moments, while Pisa introduced fresh players in hopes of finding a consolation goal that never came.
With a clean sheet, three goals, and a performance that exuded confidence, Roma continues to apply pressure in the race for the top four.
