AS Roma is reportedly gaining momentum in their pursuit of Olympique de Marseille forward Mason Greenwood, as the player’s father and agent have reportedly approved a potential transfer to the Italian club.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma has identified Greenwood as a key target this summer and is currently evaluating the possibility of a deal with Marseille.
The report mentions that Greenwood’s father-agent has already endorsed this potential move, and Roma’s new head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, is willing to reach out personally to Greenwood to discuss his vision for the team. Marseille is believed to value Greenwood at approximately €55 million following his strong debut season at the Stade Vélodrome after joining from Manchester United last summer.
Relations between Roma and Marseille are reportedly strong, thanks to previous transactions, including the sale of young striker Robinio Vaz for €25 million last winter.
However, Roma may need to create some financial space before formally approaching for Greenwood. Matías Soulé could depart the club this summer amid interest from Aston Villa, with Roma reportedly demanding between €35 million and €40 million for the Argentine attacker.
