Serie A club Milan has signed a potential replacement for Strahinja Pavlovic. The club has acquired Troyes talent Sankhoun Diawara on a permanent deal.
Rangers had shown interest in signing the defender, presenting an appealing project that would integrate him into their first team.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Milan has successfully brought Diawara into their ranks. Although initially intended for the Futuro team, management has opted to include him in the first team, positioning him as a future successor to Pavlovic.
Both players share similarities: they are left-footed, tall, and exhibit strong ball-handling skills. Milan aims to nurture Diawara’s development to mirror the qualities of the Serbian defender, with the transfer costing around €3 million.

For some time, it seemed Rangers were poised to finalize the transfer. Milan’s strategy indicates a long-term vision, reminiscent of their approach with Davide Bartesaghi. The academy has produced notable talents recently. Diawara arrives at a crucial juncture in his career, and manager Ruben Amorim appreciates the profile of young defenders capable of playing on the left side of a back three. This will serve him well during his tenure at the Rossoneri.
