Inter Milan Eye Russian…

Inter Milan’s January transfer strategy is taking shape, with Italian media suggesting various scenarios linked to the uncertain future of Stefan de Vrij, as well as identifying Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan as a potential target in the midfield.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the situation surrounding De Vrij is the one to watch closely as the transfer window nears.

The Dutch defender is keen to maintain his chances for selection in the upcoming World Cup, which has prompted him to seek consistent playing time.

The publication notes that “if he doesn’t receive positive signals soon, he may request an early exit instead of staying until his contract expires at the end of the season.”

Although Inter would prefer to retain De Vrij, a departure would necessitate defensive reinforcements.

The club is looking for a left-sided centre-back to serve as an alternative to Alessandro Bastoni, rather than a typical centre-back. This move would also allow Carlos Augusto to focus on his role without splitting duties between the defense and the wing, an issue that has arisen frequently this season.

In addition to their defensive considerations, Corriere dello Sport has confirmed reports from Armenia regarding Inter’s interest in Eduard Spertsyan.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder currently plays for Krasnodar and has gained recognition as one of the most skilled players in the Russian Premier League.

Spertsyan, who is also an Armenia international, is valued for his creativity, goal contributions, and versatility in positioning.

While negotiations are not yet advanced, there is genuine interest, fitting into Inter’s overall strategy to enhance their midfield options to complement Hakan Calhanoglu.

Currently, the club’s plans depend heavily on potential outgoing transfers, and as January approaches, Inter’s strategy appears to be becoming increasingly interconnected.
