England centre-back John Stones has signed a two-year deal with Inter Milan after leaving Manchester City on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old departed City at the end of June when his contract expired, concluding a decade with the Premier League club. He said he had fulfilled all his dreams at City, where he helped win six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
After becoming a free agent, Stones attracted interest from several European sides, including Chelsea and Juventus.
Inter, who won their 21st Serie A title last season, begin their defence against newly promoted Monza on Saturday, 22 August.
A Barnsley academy product, Stones made 295 appearances and scored 19 goals for City after joining from Everton for £47.5m in 2016. He has 93 England caps and was part of the squad that finished third at this summer’s World Cup, starting the quarter-final win over Norway and the 2-1 semi-final defeat to Argentina.
