Luis Henrique has shared insights into his challenging start at Inter Milan, attributing his progress to the support from teammates Carlos Augusto and Lautaro Martinez. He views the rocky beginning as a normal phase of adjustment.
In an interview with Brazilian football magazine Placar, via FCIN, the wing-back candidly discussed the hurdles of adapting to Cristian Chivu’s tactical system following his transfer from Marseille last summer.

He was not surprised by the tactical rigor of Serie A.
Having previously played under Gennaro Gattuso and Roberto De Zerbi, he acknowledged that understanding the specific demands of his role at Inter took time.
“At Marseille, I enjoyed more freedom as a winger, often playing higher up the pitch,” he explained. “At Inter, I engage more in build-up play and ball distribution. Initially, it was challenging, but as I gained experience in each match, I adapted. Now, I feel much more at ease and my game is improving.”

The support from Carlos Augusto has been crucial since his arrival.

“Having another Brazilian like Carlos Augusto in the squad was beneficial; he helped me immensely,” Luis Henrique noted.
However, it was Lautaro’s friendliness that made the most significant impact on him. “I share a great bond with Lautaro Martinez; he gave me a warm welcome. He even sent me a message once I settled in and often jokes with me while trying to speak in Portuguese.”
Luis Henrique also reflected on the tactical nature of Italian football. “You can see how well-prepared teams are tactically. The emphasis on man-marking makes a significant difference.”
To aid his transition, Inter employs detailed video analysis before every training session and match, allowing him to gradually hit his stride.
