Inter Milan will be missing Matteo Darmian and Ange-Yoan Bonny for their clash with Bologna, even though both are nearing recovery from their injuries.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, both players are in good shape and have successfully completed important stages of their rehabilitation.

Despite their progress, Cristian Chivu has decided not to include them in the squad for Sunday’s Serie A match against Bologna.

Instead, the focus is on ensuring their full availability for the upcoming trip to Parma on Wednesday.

Chivu intends to put forth his strongest XI at San Siro, moving away from the more experimental formation seen in Riyadh.

Hakan Calhanoglu will return to the starting line-up following his absence during the Saudi trip due to fitness issues.

The attacking duo of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram is also expected to be reinstated for the match.

In midfield, Henrikh Mkhitaryan currently holds a slight advantage over Piotr Zielinski for a starting spot. On the right side, Luis Henrique is set to make his eighth consecutive start.

Additionally, there is good news on the defensive front, as Francesco Acerbi has returned to group training and is now considered available for the match.

This adds extra depth for Chivu in defense.

Projected Inter XI (3-5-2):

Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro, Thuram.
