Johnson Brings What Palace…

Match of the Day analyst Steph Houghton believes that Brennan Johnson’s transfer to Crystal Palace is a beneficial move for both the player and the club.

According to a report from BBC Sport on Thursday, a £35m deal has been reached with Tottenham for the forward, and the transfer is expected to be finalized pending the completion of medical examinations on Friday.

Houghton commented, “Palace has played a lot of matches in a short time and they’re short on numbers. Johnson brings valuable experience, especially with the World Cup approaching, and will be eager to get more playing time.”

“He hasn’t had many chances to play at Spurs, but he knows how to score important goals, something Crystal Palace has been missing this season.”

“He will also support Jean-Philippe Mateta in the attack.”

Johnson was the top scorer for Spurs last season, netting 18 goals. He has scored twice in the current Premier League season but is not part of manager Thomas Frank’s long-term plans.
