We sought your opinions on Reece James’ new six-year contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2032.
Here are some of the responses we received:
Andy: Reece James is undeniably one of the best players in the Premier League and is truly world-class. It’s refreshing to see a player remain loyal to one club. If Chelsea can secure a top goalkeeper and have their first-choice center-backs fit, along with the squad aging and gaining experience, he could lead them to significant success over the next five years.
James: This deal is definitely a relief. I was worried we might lose him given his recent form. Hopefully, with the new rebuilding efforts, he can solidify his place in the club’s history with a couple of league titles.
Liam: It’s great to see James reaching his potential without being hindered by injuries. I don’t think any Chelsea fan has ever doubted his abilities. Moving forward, I see him as a key pillar in building a successful team. He already has a commendable trophy collection, and if he continues to excel, he could enter conversations alongside legends like Lampard, Terry, and Drogba.
Richard: Reece James’ success largely depends on having a top-tier goalkeeper, solid center-backs, and a dependable striker to support Joao Pedro. Avoiding situations where defensive lapses lead to lost points will be crucial.
Louis: On his best days, James ranks among the world’s elite. Chelsea has caused me a lot of stress this season, but I feel most at ease when he’s on the ball. His crossing skills are exceptional, and his calm demeanor is essential in a team filled with younger players. Having him in his prime is great news for Chelsea fans!
Keith: It’s fantastic to hear that Reece has committed to the club until 2032. Now we just need a manager who will utilize him in his optimal position as a full-back, rather than misplacing him in midfield.
