LA Galaxy nearing…

The LA Galaxy, a storied franchise in MLS, might be gearing up for a significant resurgence in the 2026 season as they pursue a deal for free agent center-back Justin Haak.

The 24-year-old Brooklyn native had an outstanding season with NYCFC in 2025, establishing himself as one of the league’s premier defensive talents.

According to league insider Tom Bogert, Haak would provide valuable versatility in both defense and midfield for head coach Greg Vanney, following his role in helping NYCFC reach the Eastern Conference finals last season.

Despite his impressive performance in the Bronx, Haak entered the free agent market after NYCFC reportedly placed less value on him compared to other teams, despite his 34 appearances at the heart of defense under Pascal Jensen.

If the Galaxy successfully sign the former U.S. youth international, it would mark another highlight in an already promising off-season that includes the recent acquisition of Norwegian defender Jakob Glesnes.
