Lamine Yamal Scores First…

Barcelona 4-1 Villarreal

After experiencing back-to-back defeats, Barcelona bounced back with consecutive victories, defeating Villarreal in their La Liga match at Spotify Camp Nou.

The opening half-hour proved to be frustrating for the Catalan side, as Ferran Torres and Jules Kounde missed significant scoring opportunities. However, on 28 minutes, Lamine Yamal seized his chance. A lapse from Villarreal’s Pape Gueye allowed Fermin Lopez to feed the 18-year-old, who went on to net his first goal of the match.

Just ten minutes later, Lamine Yamal added a second in spectacular fashion. After collecting the ball on the right flank, he surged into the penalty area, evaded two challenges, and curled a shot into the far corner, leaving Villarreal’s goalkeeper, Luiz Junior, with no chance.

Villarreal may have felt slightly hard done by to be trailing 2-0 at halftime, but just four minutes after the break, they found a way back into the game. A corner was poorly cleared by Barcelona, allowing Pape Gueye to score from close range to narrow the deficit.

Fortunately for Barcelona, they quickly restored their two-goal lead with a third from Lamine Yamal. After being played in by Pedri, he faced only Junior and made no mistake, achieving his first career hat-trick. The Catalans further extended their lead in stoppage time as Robert Lewandowski finished off a cutback from Jules Kounde for the fourth goal of the match.

Barcelona Apply Pressure on Real Madrid with Latest Win

The victory puts Barcelona four points ahead of Real Madrid, who won’t be in action until Monday. Hansi Flick’s squad will need to net at least four goals on Tuesday against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final tie, making this match a solid preparation for that challenge.
