On Saturday evening, Barcelona easily defeated Villarreal in La Liga, reclaiming a temporary four-point lead at the top of the table and generating momentum ahead of a crucial cup match midweek.
The standout performer of the night was Lamine Yamal, who netted his first-ever career hat-trick, single-handedly securing the three points for his team.

What made the occasion even more special was that all three of the teenager’s goals came from open play, featuring impressive finishes, particularly his second goal where he navigated into the box and scored from a nearly impossible angle.
Yamal’s Post-Match Thoughts
In a post-match interview, the hat-trick hero shared his feelings about the historic match against Villarreal.
“I’m incredibly happy with the win and my three goals. The key is to remain calm. I was just waiting for Cardona to approach me before taking the shot,” he explained.
Yamal also reflected on the high expectations surrounding him at such a young age and addressed the criticism he has faced.

Yamal further revealed that he had not been enjoying his game at the start of the season, but his recent performances show that positive changes are happening.
“A few months ago, I wasn’t enjoying playing. It wasn’t merely the pubalgia; I just wasn’t happy. Now, I feel great and am really enjoying it.”
The man of the match also commented on his early substitution, clarifying that he had an agreement with coach Hansi Flick regarding it.
“The substitution was prearranged in case the team scored, and since I scored as well, both things aligned.”
When asked about the possibility of turning the game around against Atletico Madrid midweek, he maintained his confidence.
“A comeback is possible. We will give it our all, and we need the fans’ support, but it can definitely happen.”
