David Neres reflects on his new role at Napoli following his impressive performance that included two goals in a 3-1 victory over Atalanta. Meanwhile, teammate Noa Lang shares his mixed feelings regarding Antonio Conte’s coaching decisions.

The Partenopei have been facing challenges lately, struggling to gather momentum with only two points from their last three matches.

Having not scored in the league since January, Neres finally ended his 11-month scoring drought with a brace in this match.

“This is a crucial win for us, and we need to build on this momentum as we have another game in just a few days,” Neres stated to Sky Sport Italia.

Notably, the team adopted a 3-4-2-1 formation rather than a traditional 3-4-3, allowing the wingers to play closer to Rasmus Hojlund than in previous games.

“Playing closer to the goal makes it easier to score. I enjoy playing in various positions; I just want to be involved on the pitch, regardless of where I am positioned,” he added.

“I’m thrilled to have scored my first goal, and our victory is the most vital aspect,” Lang shared with Sky Sport Italia.

The Netherlands native has been vocal about his frustrations with Conte and feeling overlooked, as this was only his second start of the season.

“To be honest, it has been a challenging time. I arrived here with high hopes and needed to remain patient and diligent. I didn’t always agree with the approach, but I trust in the plan ahead.

“Moving forward, I only want to focus on the future. The best is yet to come; this is merely the beginning.”

Napoli now looks to regain its footing in the Champions League as they prepare to host Qarabag on Tuesday, followed by a crucial Scudetto clash against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma the following Sunday.
