Lewandowski Set to Depart…

Robert Lewandowski has confirmed his decision to leave Barcelona at the conclusion of the current season when his contract ends.

Earlier this year, ESPN reported that Barcelona was open to extending the experienced striker’s contract, albeit with reduced terms.

However, the 37-year-old Lewandowski has opted to end his four-year tenure with the LaLiga champions.

Sources indicate that he has garnered interest from clubs across Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, including Chicago Fire.

He will have the opportunity to bid farewell to Barcelona supporters this Sunday when the Blaugrana face Real Betis at Spotify Camp Nou in their final home match of the season.

This season, Lewandowski has seen sporadic action, sharing the No. 9 position with Ferran Torres.

Nevertheless, he has maintained his scoring prowess, netting 18 goals as Barça clinched LaLiga and the Spanish Supercopa.

Since his transfer from Bayern Munich in 2022 for €45 million ($53 million), the Polish international has scored 119 times in 191 appearances for Barcelona.

He has achieved LaLiga success in three of his four years in Spain, along with three Supercopa titles and one Copa del Rey.
