Lisandro Martinez on the…

Lisandro Martínez, the 27-year-old defender for Manchester United, is on the verge of returning to full training after being sidelined for over eight months due to a severe knee injury, according to a report from Sky Sports.

Last week, Martínez underwent a scan on his left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), and club sources have described the results as “very positive.” Manager Rúben Amorim and his staff are reportedly encouraged by his recovery progress, but they remain cautious about not rushing Martínez back too soon.

The return of Martínez would significantly bolster Amorim’s options, as the team has been missing the center-back since February and has struggled with an inconsistent defensive lineup in his absence. His teammate Casemiro mentioned to reporters that Martínez is “on the final straight” of his recovery, indicating that a comeback might be just around the corner.

If everything continues to progress well, the former Ajax defender could rejoin full training as early as this week. However, the club plans to reintegrate him gradually to prevent any setbacks.

In addition to Martínez and Noussair Mazraoui, United is nearing full strength as they prepare for their crucial Premier League match against Liverpool this Sunday.
