Liverpool and Real Madrid…

Jacobo Ramon: Rising Defensive Star

Jacobo Ramon has recently been linked with a transfer to Merseyside, standing out as a remarkable talent with the Spain U21 team and making waves in Serie A while playing for Como.

At just 21 years old, Ramon transitioned from Real Madrid to Como last summer in a deal for a modest £2 million. However, the 15-time Champions League winners have retained significant leverage regarding the player’s future.

Real Madrid inserted a buyback clause for Ramon valued at a mere €8 million, which they would be remiss not to activate given his current form. Additionally, Madrid is entitled to 50 percent of any transfer fee should Como opt to sell him to another club.

With major changes anticipated in Madrid’s center-back lineup next summer — including the departures of David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger — Ramon could emerge as a prime candidate to fill the gap.

Liverpool Keeps an Eye on Jacobo Ramon

Madrid may consider reclaiming Ramon, potentially selling him later for a significantly higher fee than the €8 million buyback fee.

Interest in the defender is burgeoning within the Premier League, as reported by TEAMtalk, which identified Liverpool as one of the clubs eyeing a potential signing next summer.

“Real Madrid are closely monitoring Jacobo Ramon’s development at Como and are well-positioned to bring him back amid interest from clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Newcastle,” the report states.

“Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Newcastle have all taken note of the defender’s progress, with Brighton and Crystal Palace also keen admirers.”

It should be noted that Liverpool currently finds itself as an underdog in the race for Ramon, as Real Madrid is likely to play a decisive role in determining his next move.
