Liverpool Drop Major Hint…

Stefan Bajcetic at the Center of Transfer Speculation

The 21-year-old midfielder has had limited appearances for the Reds’ first team since 2023, making only a brief appearance towards the end of the 2023/24 season before being loaned out last term.

Bajcetic spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Red Bull Salzburg under Pep Lijnders, but returned early following the Dutchman’s departure.

His subsequent loan to Las Palmas during the second half of the season proved more successful, as he maintained a consistent presence on the pitch despite the team’s relegation.

After undergoing surgery over the summer to address a persistent injury, Bajcetic’s availability for another loan in the 2025/26 season has been ruled out.

Although he’s faced setbacks in his recovery, the No. 6 is on the mend. However, his future in the first team under Arne Slot remains uncertain.

Liverpool Reject Girona’s Bid for Bajcetic

However, there may be a glimmer of hope for the Spain under-21 international as reports indicate that Liverpool have declined Girona’s bid to secure Bajcetic on loan for the second half of the season.

The Catalan club had identified Bajcetic as their top target, according to a report by SPORT. With their overtures for a loan deal rejected by Liverpool, Girona appears to be shifting their focus toward acquiring Claudio Echeverri and Krisjan Asllani instead.

Liverpool’s midfield options have taken a hit this season, with all five senior players facing injuries and some showing signs of significant wear. If Liverpool aims to retain Bajcetic through the end of the season to provide support upon his recovery, this loan rejection could be viewed as a positive development.
