Liverpool is ready to invest £86 million in Yan Diomande as they search for a successor to Mohamed Salah. The RB Leipzig winger has emerged as a top target in this pursuit.

With Andoni Iraola at the helm, Liverpool is eyeing a £120 million double signing that includes Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34 million.

Now, the focus shifts to Ivory Coast‘s Diomande, with Liverpool preparing a package of approximately €100 million.

However, Liverpool faces stiff competition from the two-time Champions League winners, Paris Saint-Germain, while Leipzig is rumored to demand at least €130 million for the 19-year-old star.

Diomande showcased his talent on the World Cup stage, helping Ivory Coast secure a 1-0 victory over Ecuador. He moved to Leipzig last year for €20 million from Leganes and made a significant impact by scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists during the Bundesliga season, aiding Leipzig’s Champions League qualification.

While Munoz is considered a versatile forward capable of filling various attacking roles, Diomande is likely viewed as a more direct replacement for Salah on the right flank.

If the £86 million transfer goes through, Diomande would become Liverpool’s third most expensive signing, following last summer’s acquisition of Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.

Liverpool has made attacking players a priority in this summer’s transfer window, particularly with the potential departures of Salah and Federico Chiesa, as well as Hugo Ekitike missing the beginning of the next season.

The club has previously signed from Leipzig, including notable players like Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate, and Naby Keita.
