London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Spanish youth international Daniela Arques from Sporting, pending international clearance.
The 20-year-old has agreed a three-year contract, further strengthening the club’s growing Spanish contingent.
In an ambitious summer window, London City have also added Spain’s two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas and former Barcelona defender Mapi León.
Arques reunites with London City’s Spanish head coach Eder Maestre after an excellent season in Portugal, where she made 32 appearances and became a key player.
“I’m really excited to be joining London City and can’t wait to get started,” said Arques.
“Coming to the UK to play in the WSL is a brilliant opportunity and I’m looking forward to developing as a player and as a person.
“Being surrounded by experienced players and learning from them every day is something I’m really excited about.”
Arques was part of Spain’s U19 squad that secured back-to-back European titles in 2024 and 2025, before stepping up to the U20s.
She began at Athletic Club de Murcia and went on to feature for Alhama and Levante in Spain’s top flight.
