Real Madrid Set to Table…

Rodri has caught the attention of Real Madrid over the past few weeks, but discussions have hit a pause as Los Blancos expedited the acquisition of Yan Diomande.

The signing of the RB Leipzig star is nearly finalized, and Real Madrid is now shifting its focus back to Rodri.

According to MARCA, the club is taking steps to secure the Spaniard and plans to present an offer to Manchester City promptly after completing Diomande’s signing.

Mourinho’s Priority

The Spanish outlet reports that Jose Mourinho considers acquiring a midfielder this summer essential, with Rodri being the top candidate for that role. The club remains hopeful about completing the transfer.

Initially, club president Florentino Perez posed a significant obstacle to Rodri’s transfer, but he has now given his approval. The next step is for Real Madrid to submit an official offer to finalize the deal.

The player fulfills all of Mourinho’s requirements, exhibiting leadership, versatility, and the ability to manage midfield dynamics while also providing creativity.

Man City Open to a Transfer

While it may seem surprising that Manchester City would consider selling Rodri after his standout World Cup performance, the club acknowledges that he is in the final year of his contract.

They are willing to entertain a transfer if the offer is right, with estimates placing his value between €50 million and €60 million.

Perez and Real Madrid envision Rodri as the central figure of their squad for the upcoming season, and discussions are set to intensify in the days ahead. Negotiations are expected to proceed smoothly, especially with Rodri eager for a move to Spain.

Last season, Rodri made 21 appearances in the Premier League, contributing one goal along with an average of 1.2 key passes and a pass accuracy of 90%.

His performance in the recent World Cup showcased him as a pivotal player for his national team, establishing him as one of the best midfielders in the game.
