Lyon Eyes Quadruple After…

VALENCIENNES, France — OL Lyonnes continue their pursuit of a historic quadruple this season after defeating Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 in the women’s French Cup final held on Sunday.

Forward Jule Brand showcased her impressive form by assisting on two goals for striker Vicki Bècho in the first half. The other goals for Lyonnes were scored by Melchie Dumornay and Lindsey Heaps, while substitute Merveille Kanjinga scored a consolation goal for PSG at Stade du Hainaut in Valenciennes.

This victory marks Lyon’s record-extending 11th French Cup triumph, having previously defeated PSG 1-0 in March to secure the inaugural League Cup.

Currently, Lyonnes are well positioned to claim a record 19th league title, sitting 12 points clear of their nearest rivals as they head into the final-four playoff to determine the champion.

Additionally, they are in contention for a record-extending ninth Champions League crown, as coach Jonatan Giráldez’s team prepares to face Barcelona in the final set for May 23 in Oslo.
