After Manchester United’s victory over Brentford, manager Michael Carrick spoke with BBC Match of the Day: “The match was open at times, and we got off to a fantastic start. We managed the game well and had to hold on. It was challenging tonight, but this time of year, getting results is crucial.”
On Casemiro’s quick goal: “He has scored some significant goals for us. The relationship among Bruno, Harry, and Casemiro is strong. Our plan was to start quickly and play with danger and creativity—and we accomplished that.”
On scoring before halftime: “Getting that second goal just before the break put us in a favorable position. The game was never out of reach. We managed it well after halftime and looked more composed and solid. We could have pushed for more, but there were certain areas we needed to control better. The players showed great experience in wrapping up the game, which earned us a vital three points, especially after the victory against Leeds. Two wins are fantastic.”
On nearing a Champions League spot: “It was never guaranteed; at times, we weren’t the favorites. Now, we’re in a strong position and are aiming to finish as high as possible in the league to continue pushing forward.”
