Manchester United may revisit their pursuit of Atalanta’s Ederson, though not at the previously agreed price of £35 million, according to BBC Sport.
The Red Devils were close to securing Ederson’s services after reaching an agreement on personal terms and the deal’s structure with Atalanta. However, they decided to withdraw from the transfer following concerns that arose during the player’s medical examination.
There remains a possibility for United to reinitiate this transfer later in the summer as the window progresses. With Champions League participation on the horizon, the club is looking to bolster its squad depth.
United has faced several hiccups in their efforts to target key players, including Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes, who both opted to join Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.
On a positive note, they have announced the signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48 million. Additionally, they are in advanced negotiations to secure Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, with the player expressing a preference for the move and a release clause set at £35 million.
Furthermore, with Luke Shaw’s ongoing injury troubles, United is actively seeking a new left-back. They have pinpointed Lewis Hall as their main target, but face obstacles from Newcastle United, who are not inclined to part with him this summer.
As a backup option, United is also considering Neco Williams.
