According to a recent report from Italian news source Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United is poised to compete with Liverpool for the signature of Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu. The Red Devils are reportedly keen to bolster their defense this summer by targeting the French center-back.
Kalulu’s Impressive Performance in Serie A
Kalulu has been in exceptional form for Juventus, delivering a string of solid defensive performances. This season, he has already scored two goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
Having established himself as one of Serie A’s top center-backs, it’s no surprise that Manchester United is eager to acquire him at the end of the season.
Kalulu is under contract with the Italian club until the summer of 2029, which may pose a challenge for Manchester United in terms of securing him at a reasonable price this year.

Is Kalulu a Suitable Choice for Manchester United’s Michael Carrick?
Kalulu is a skilled tackler who has a keen sense of positioning, allowing him to regain possession effectively within his half. He is adept at clearing the ball when necessary and excels in building play from the back.
Primarily a center-back, the French player can also operate as a right-back if required. However, only time will reveal if he can adapt seamlessly to the demands of the Premier League, should the Red Devils secure his services this summer.
Kalulu would undoubtedly add strength and resilience to Manchester United under Michael Carrick’s management. He has the capability to compete for a regular starting position at the club in the upcoming years.
At 25 years old, Kalulu is in his prime and represents an excellent option for Manchester United to consider during this summer’s transfer window. There remains some uncertainty about his ability to handle the physicality and fast pace of English football, but it would be prudent for the Red Devils to pursue him sooner rather than later.
