Gianluca Mancini shared his perspective on the incident involving Jacobo Ramon and Cesc Fabregas during the tense ending of Roma’s victory against Como, stating, “I had much more respect for older players when I was younger.”
After suffering two consecutive 1-0 defeats in Serie A against Napoli and Cagliari, the Giallorossi needed a lift and managed to secure a win with the same scoreline. Wesley Franca’s angled shot slipped through Alex Valle’s legs to clinch the match.

“We were first to the ball and dominated the first half. It’s unusual to see Como struggle for possession,” Mancini stated in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
“We couldn’t translate that dominance into goals, but we maintained our tempo in the second half, scored with Wesley, and faced some risks. Overall, it was a well-deserved win.”
As the match neared its conclusion, tensions flared when Mancini appeared to shoulder barge Jacobo Ramon off the ball, leading to an argument between the two.

Following the final whistle, the tension continued as Mancini engaged in a heated discussion with Como coach Fabregas to clarify their conflicting views.
“There was a normal collision with Ramon, but he stood up and grabbed me by the neck,” Mancini recounted. “When I was 20, I had a lot more respect for older players; otherwise, I would have encountered consequences. I told Ramon to calm down, but he wouldn’t back off. This kind of conflict can happen due to adrenaline, but it’s behind us now.”
“I sorted things out with the coach, and that’s what matters.”

This victory positions Roma firmly in fourth place and narrows the gap to just three points behind the new Serie A leaders, Inter. They are only one point behind Napoli and two behind AC Milan, making the race for the Scudetto incredibly competitive.
“This is the intensity the coach expects from us. I’m thrilled with my goal but even more excited about the overall performance and the win,” Wesley said in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
This marked Wesley’s third goal of the Serie A season; he was not known for scoring frequently in the past. “I’m genuinely happy to be contributing goals. Director Massara asked how many I scored at Flamengo, and I mentioned four. He joked that I needed to double that here. I hope I can achieve that, as I came to Roma to support the team, hopefully by scoring as well.”
