Pablo Longoria, the president of Olympique de Marseille, has confirmed that Ethan Nwaneri’s loan from Arsenal does not include an option to buy, referring to such a clause as “unrealistic” due to the Premier League club’s long-term vision for the young player.
Nwaneri has already made a strong impression at Marseille, netting a stunning goal on his debut against RC Lens just a day after his arrival. The performance of the England youth international has generated considerable excitement at the Vélodrome. However, Longoria took the opportunity to clarify the specifics of the loan arrangement in an interview with The Telegraph.

“Let’s be clear: an option to buy is unrealistic,” Longoria stated.
“He is one of Arsenal’s key assets for the future.”
“For us, his value lies in his talent and performance on the field,” the Marseille president elaborated. “For Arsenal, it’s about what he brings to the game, and for Nwaneri, it’s an important step in his development, especially being coached by Roberto [De Zerbi].”
