Mauricio Pochettino Has…

When players and supporters share the same belief, a team becomes formidable—and that unity was unmistakable after the win over Australia.

Led by Pochettino, the team made a lap of Seattle Stadium to applaud the crowd, who broke into John Denver’s Take Me Home, Country Roads—quickly shaping up to be the USA’s unofficial victory anthem.

Afterward, downtown Seattle teemed with thousands of jubilant fans, still chanting Pochettino’s name.

“He’s our Braveheart,” said one supporter.

“He’s the leader ready to carry us through the battles and the pain to the end.”

“He’s ushered in a great era. He doesn’t overcomplicate things and gives us a straightforward game to watch.”

Another added: “I’ve been a Tottenham fan for 16 years, and our best spell was with him in charge.

“When he took over the USA, it felt like a dream come true—and look at us now, he’s aiming to win it!”

In Los Angeles, where the USA face Turkey in their final group match (Friday, 03:00 BST), supporters were equally energized by Pochettino’s impact.

“It seems like even people who aren’t big soccer fans are now behind the team, which is really cool,” said one American Arsenal fan, unfazed by Pochettino’s past with Tottenham, the Gunners’ rivals.

“I think everything Pochettino has done has been positive. I like him. I do think he’s on his way out after this, and that hurts.”

Another USA fan praised the winning mindset he’s brought: “It’s great to have a manager who comes in without the usual American politics.

“He’s here to win, plain and simple. Why can’t we win it? Why not us?”
