Derek McInnes humorously remarked that “his mother and father have a taser for me” after he celebrated Hearts’ thrilling last-minute derby goal with a ball boy.
The excitement on the Tynecastle pitch erupted when substitute Tomas Magnusson scored in the 88th minute, sparking jubilation among the players, fans, and McInnes, who rushed to embrace the young ball boy as he acknowledged the supporters.

This wasn’t the first instance of the ball boy being part of McInnes’ celebrations—he had previously celebrated similarly last month during Hearts’ match against St Mirren, where they played with 10 men.
“I think his parents have a taser for me,” joked McInnes. “I really ought to give him some space. There was a look of fear on his face when I ran toward him.”
“We’re all just caught up in the moment; that sheer joy takes over.”
“I genuinely thought there was still a bit more time left to play. I was thrilled to realize only a few minutes remained, as I initially believed there were seven or eight more to navigate.”

“This was a different feeling compared to Craig Halkett’s goal in the 1-0 derby win last October, but thankfully we managed to keep our composure defensively and secure those crucial three points.”
