Nico Paz has completed his first training session with Argentina‘s national team, having successfully recovered from a knee injury.

The midfielder from Como had been sidelined since May 10 due to a knock on his left knee.

At 21, Paz is set to be available for the warm-up match against Iceland on Tuesday in Auburn, Alabama.

Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni will also have Nahuel Molina and Gonzalo Montiel available as both right-backs have recovered from their injuries and participated in Sunday’s practice.

Regarding Lionel Messi, he is showing signs of improvement from muscle fatigue in his left hamstring and might participate for some minutes against Iceland.

The captain of Argentina was an observer during his team’s 2-0 victory over Honduras on Saturday, where he sat on the bench.

Messi, at 38 years old, has been out since May 25 due to the muscle issue he sustained during his last match with Inter Miami prior to joining the national team.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez along with Leandro Paredes continue to train separately as they undergo rehabilitation for their injuries.

Both players are anticipated to recover in time for Argentina’s World Cup opener against Algeria on June 16.
