According to ESPN Brasil, a new bid was submitted today, amounting to €18m with an additional €4m contingent on performance-related bonuses, bringing the total to €22m.
Shortly after this news emerged, MilanNews reported that the backlash from Corinthians was so severe that Milan decided to abandon the pursuit altogether.

The club’s management has expressed frustration over the disorganized manner in which Corinthians has handled the negotiations, especially since they believed an agreement had been reached weeks prior.
The 19-year-old midfielder has drawn comparisons to Atalanta’s current star Ederson and was so enthusiastic about joining San Siro that he offered to relinquish the 30 percent transfer fee he would have received.
