Milan Futuro started strong, creating an immediate opportunity in the 7th minute when Sardo hit the crossbar from close range. They maintained control of the match, pressing Chievo and threatening again through Magrassi, who missed a chance to score from close range. Chievo took advantage of their first opportunity with a well-placed strike by Douglas Costa from the edge of the box, making it 1-0. Early in the second half, the Rossoneri found their equalizer following a brilliant save by Torriani from Paloschi.

Sardo scored the equalizing goal with a fine assist from Ossola, a deserved goal that brought our team back into the match. The contest remained evenly fought yet filled with stoppages, with Coach Oddo making several substitutions before the 90-minute mark, introducing 2009-born Menon, who attempted a shot in the 88th minute. A strong chance was missed by Magrassi, who failed to convert a header from a promising position. In stoppage time, Chievo went down to ten men with Turano receiving a red card.
