Christopher Nkunku’s much-anticipated transfer to AC Milan has taken a surprising downturn, with the French forward now deemed “available for transfer” just months after joining the club permanently from Chelsea.
As reported by Daniele Longo from Calciomercato, the club’s leadership has expressed disappointment with Nkunku’s contributions at San Siro.

Despite a significant investment to bring him to Milan in 2025, he has reportedly struggled to meet the tactical and physical expectations set by the Rossoneri management. This rejection appears to be final, prompting the club to look for an immediate exit strategy for the forward.
Milan is now counting on his agent, the influential Pini Zahavi, to find a potential buyer. The club hopes to finalize a transfer as early as the January window to avoid further depreciation of Nkunku’s value while he remains sidelined.
Initially celebrated as a key signing for the post-Giroud era, this transfer has quickly become a costly error that the club is eager to amend. The current priority is to locate a team willing to take on Nkunku’s salary and facilitate a deal that allows Milan to move forward.
