Phil Parkinson expressed disappointment that his Wrexham team squandered a chance against Norwich City, bringing an end to their impressive five-game winning streak.
Anis Ben Slimane and Jovon Makama scored for the Canaries, sandwiching Sam Smith’s header as Norwich became the first away side to win a Championship match at Stok Cae Ras in 11 games.

“When the performance level drops, both individually and as a team, it’s tough to secure a result. That was the case today,” the Wrexham manager explained.
“I reminded the players that during our comeback against Sheffield United when we were 3-1 down, we maintained a strong rhythm and brilliantly found our way back into the game.
“Today, after a couple of technical mistakes, we needed someone to take control of the ball and help us regain our momentum. Once we did that, we had some positive spells and nearly turned things around.”
“It’s definitely frustrating. We’ve been on a great run, and we won’t dwell too much on this loss. However, I do believe today was a missed opportunity. If you consider how well we played in the last 35 minutes of the first half, it’s a chance we’ve let slip.”
Play was halted for approximately 20 minutes early in the second half due to a medical emergency in the Mold Road stand.
A supporter was taken out of the stadium for medical attention and transported to the hospital, leading Parkinson to say: “First and foremost, I hope the individual is okay; that’s the most important thing.”
Despite the loss, the Red Dragons remain in 10th place in the table, just three points off the top six, ahead of their match against Leicester City on Tuesday night in north Wales.

“There isn’t much amiss. We knew how to handle possession today, and when we executed our game plan, we looked strong in the first half,” he continued. “However, when we strayed from that and gave the ball away carelessly, we allowed Norwich to pressure us.”
“It serves as a lesson, and we’ll learn from it together as we prepare to respond against Leicester on Tuesday.”
