Lohmann, 25, had been selected for head coach Christian Wück’s 23-player roster for Germany’s UEFA Women’s Nations League final matchups against Spain. However, she has sustained what is believed to be a minor muscular injury and is set to return to Manchester City for evaluation and treatment after observing the first leg of the finals tomorrow night at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern.
Her Manchester City teammate, Rebecca Knaak, remains in the German squad and is expected to play as the team competes in their first-ever UEFA Women’s Nations League final. Germany finished third in the 2024 UEFA Women’s Nations League, while their current opponents, Spain, were the tournament’s inaugural winners. The DFB Women are eager to defy expectations and create history by clinching the title this time.
The first leg of the UEFA Women’s Nations League final kicks off at 7:30 PM tomorrow, with Germany traveling to Madrid for the second leg on Tuesday evening.
