Jacob Ramsey received his second yellow card in first-half stoppage time for diving to win a penalty against Senne Lammens, having already been booked for a tackle on Casemiro earlier in the half. Just moments later, Newcastle was awarded a penalty when Bruno Fernandes accidentally collided with Anthony Gordon in the box. Gordon converted the penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time, but Manchester United quickly equalized as Casemiro nodded in Fernandes’ free kick shortly after.
Newcastle looked more likely to score early in the second half, but Manchester United found their rhythm and almost took the lead in the 75th minute when Leny Yoro’s clear header was remarkably saved by Aaron Ramsdale. This set the stage for Osula, who skillfully maneuvered past Tyrell Malacia before curling a stunning shot around both Harry Maguire and Lammens, finding the side netting just inside the far post — a goal as exceptional as it was unexpected.

This loss leaves Manchester United (51 points) still in 3rd place in the Premier League, now just three points ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool (5th and 6th) in the battle for UEFA Champions League qualification. Meanwhile, Newcastle (39 points) climbs to 12th, just one point behind local neighbors Sunderland with nine matches remaining.
