Newcastle United Secures Free Transfer of Swedish Forward Emilia Larsson

WSL Full-Time has confirmed the signing through an official press release from The Magpies this evening.

Larsson, a 27-year-old forward, joins Newcastle after her contract with FC Rosengård came to an end. She played a key role in helping the Swedish team clinch the OBOS Damallsvenskan title in 2024, having joined them in 2023.

Her career began in Sweden with Linköpings FC, followed by a stint at IFK Norrköping. She also spent time at Hammarby IF before moving to FC Rosengård.

On the international scene, Larsson has represented Sweden at various youth levels but has yet to earn a senior cap.

Expressing her excitement about joining Newcastle United, Larsson stated, “It’s an amazing feeling, and I can’t wait to meet all the girls and get going. This is a big club with a lot of history, and they are embarking on something significant that I want to be a part of.”

Larsson will be eligible for selection once the necessary international clearance is obtained. She becomes the club’s second signing of the January transfer window, following Kaitlyn Torpey’s recent arrival.
