According to a report from L’Équipe, OGC Nice is actively pursuing the appointment of a new sporting director amid ongoing uncertainties about the club’s future.
This Friday, Le Gym will face AS Saint-Étienne, needing a victory to ensure they maintain their position in the top tier of French football. Initially, the plan was to bring in Grégory Lorenzi, the sporting director of Stade Brestois, who was set to replace Florian Maurice (whose exit remains unconfirmed). However, Lorenzi is now negotiating with Olympique de Marseille, which has resulted in a delay regarding his move to Nice.
In light of these developments, Le Gym has been considering other candidates. Geoffrey Moncada, who recently departed from his position as technical director at AC Milan, is reportedly the frontrunner for the role. Additionally, two other potential candidates are David Wantier from AJ Auxerre and Bruno Cheyrou, who is currently the Senior Player Development Manager at FIFA but previously worked with Olympique Lyonnais.
