Parkinson Celebrates…

Phil Parkinson, the manager of Wrexham’s men’s first team, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Women’s team for securing their first-ever Adran Premier title.

Guided by Jenny Sugarman, the team achieved a remarkable 4-1 victory over defending champions Cardiff City at Stok Cae Ras last Sunday, where Parkinson was in attendance.

“I’m really pleased for Jenny, her staff, the team, and the entire club,” Parkinson remarked.

“It’s fantastic they were able to secure the title with a week remaining in the season.”

“It was wonderful to witness how much it meant to everyone when the final whistle blew.”

Wrexham will proudly represent Wales in the Champions League and will be presented with the Adran Premier trophy in their final match against Swansea City on Sunday.

Since acquiring the club in February 2021, Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have committed to investing in the women’s program.

“Women’s football has seen a tremendous rise in popularity lately,” added Parkinson.

“We’ve needed to catch up with the development of the team and Jenny has embraced this challenge this season.”

“From day one, the owners have shown a strong commitment to inclusivity within the club, with the women’s team being a vital part of that vision.”
