A product of Sunderland’s academy, Paxton progressed through the ranks and played at the Professional Game Academy League level before making her debut for the first team. She has participated in Sunderland’s last two matches in the Barclays WSL2.

With a promising future in football, Sunderland is keen to secure her talents on a professional level.

On signing her first professional contract at Wearside, Paxton expressed, “I’m over the moon—it’s a really proud moment for me and my family. This is an opportunity I’ve been waiting for a long time, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to make my debut. It requires a lot of sacrifice, but those sacrifices are definitely worth it for moments like this.”

Paxton aims to continue impressing Sunderland’s manager, Melanie Reay, as she looks to feature in the club’s final two matches of the season against Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town.
