Pedro expressed how difficult it was to suppress his emotions when he netted the winning goal in his last match for Lazio against Pisa. “I don’t know what the future holds for me,” he admitted.
The atmosphere at Stadio Olimpico was already charged with emotion, as Pedro prepares to part ways with the club upon the expiration of his contract on June 30. This marked his official farewell match.

The team donned jerseys featuring specially designed patches of his face, and Pedro not only captained the side but also delivered the match-winning strike with a curling left-foot shot into the corner.
This goal capped off a comeback after an equalizer from Stefano Moreo following a goal by Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Pedro received a standing ovation as he exited the pitch for the final time in a Lazio shirt.

“The support from everyone has been incredible; I can only express my gratitude. Today was truly special. It was hard for me to keep my emotions in check,” Pedro shared with Sky Sport Italia.

A heartfelt embrace with Maurizio Sarri took place on the sidelines, reflecting their long-standing relationship that began at Chelsea before extending to Lazio.

“We’ve known each other for a long time, starting at Chelsea and then Lazio, which built a strong bond. I feel honored to have been a player who learned so much from Sarri.”

While it remains unclear what direction Pedro will take next in his career, he shows no signs of considering retirement just yet.
Approaching his 39th birthday in July, he ended the season with five goals and two assists from 29 Serie A matches, and he capped off his campaign with a Player of the Match award.

“I don’t have a clear plan for my future yet; I’ll take some time to rest and see what opportunities arise. It was a challenging season for everyone, and I want to cherish these memories and spend quality time with my family.”
Unfortunately, the Lazio ultras maintained their boycott of home matches for the occasion, resulting in his farewell being witnessed by a nearly empty stadium.
Nonetheless, many fans who were present held banners expressing they were there solely for Pedro or coach Maurizio Sarri, who may also be moving on. The ultras paid their respects to him yesterday at the Formello training ground.
