League One

Final Score: Peterborough United 3 – 0 Stockport County

Peterborough United’s revival under new manager Luke Williams continued with an impressive victory over Stockport County, who lost their top position in League One as a result of this defeat.

Since Williams took charge, Posh have won all four of their matches across all competitions and are now just one point away from safety. Meanwhile, Stockport has been dethroned from the league’s summit by Lincoln.

The home side took an early lead just five minutes into the match when Peter Kioso delivered a precise cross to Harry Leonard, who set up Ben Woods to score his first goal for the club.

In the 37th minute, Peterborough doubled their advantage. A shot from Jimmy-Jay Morgan was parried by Stockport’s Ben Hinchliffe, only for Kyrell Lisbie to capitalize on the rebound and find the back of the net.

Brandon Khela put the result beyond doubt in the 76th minute with a powerful finish into the roof of the net from a challenging angle.

Declan Frith almost made it four when his shot was saved by Hinchliffe’s foot. In stoppage time, Stockport’s Jayden Fevrier was denied a consolation goal by a strong stop from Alex Bass.
