Pittodrie Factor May Be…

Robbie Neilson believes that the atmosphere at Pittodrie could play a crucial role in helping Aberdeen achieve their first Conference League victory tonight.

Currently sitting on one point, the Dons will host FC Noah from Armenia on matchday four.

“It’s going to be a challenging night because teams in the Armenian Premier League have received significant investment,” said Neilson, the former manager of Hearts and Dundee United, on the BBC’s Scottish Football Podcast.

“This will be a tough game for Aberdeen. However, the atmosphere at Pittodrie can make all the difference. I hope the fans turn out and create some noise; often Noah plays in front of crowds of around 3,000, while Pittodrie could see 15,000 supporters.

“That could be a significant advantage for Aberdeen, and they will need their fans’ support. A strong start might lead to a win, but it won’t be easy.”
