We asked for your thoughts on Manchester United‘s advanced negotiations to acquire midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.

Adrian: This is definitely a good signing! I’m quite fond of this player, and we probably should have pursued him when he left Leicester. I’m starting to feel cautiously optimistic!
Harry: Seeing players like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo demonstrates that having Premier League experience is essential for players to hit the ground running and be valuable assets from the start. We can’t afford for players to take an entire season to adapt. Tielemans knows the league well and has consistently performed at a high level. He’s a smart signing at a fair price.
Angus: This is an excellent and somewhat bold signing. Those in charge made a wise decision not to pursue Ederson, who lacks Premier League experience, because they believed he wasn’t the right fit or was unfit. Tielemans is a proven Premier League talent who captains his national team at a similar price point.
Sazzy: We always worry about Tielemans when he plays against us because he’s such a significant threat, so having him on our side would be fantastic!
Mike: He would be a solid squad player given the number of games we anticipate playing this season. However, we still need that elite, world-class midfielder to take over for Casemiro.
Kev: He comes with a wealth of Premier League experience at a reasonable price. Not long ago, we were spending outrageous amounts on average players. It’s refreshing to see how things have shifted!
