This week has been fantastic for Paris Saint-Germain. They secured a 3-2 victory over Monaco last Wednesday and followed it up with a convincing 3-0 win against FC Metz on Saturday.
Earlier on Saturday, PSG’s midweek UEFA Champions League rival, AS Monaco, provided a boost by defeating league leaders RC Lens 2-1 in a comeback victory at the Felix-Bollaert Stadium (Monaco won 3-2).

Goals from Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola in the first half, along with a second-half strike from Gonçalo Ramos, ensured PSG claimed all three points at Parc des Princes, positioning them two points ahead of their northern rivals at the top of the table.
In another encouraging sign, all three forwards found the back of the net. With 17 wins in Ligue 1, PSG has now accumulated 54 points. Ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League showdown with Monaco, Luis Enrique made several defensive changes while facing the league’s bottom team.
Illia Zabarnyi, Lucas Beraldo, and Lucas Hernández—all usually substitutes for key matches—were given starting berths and performed admirably. Dro Fernández, the 18-year-old Spaniard who joined from FC Barcelona on January 26, made his full debut, while Ibrahim Mbaye came on at halftime to replace Doué, who had a standout midweek performance with a brace.
Paris Saint-Germain has triumphed in their last 17 official meetings against Metz since a 0-0 draw on August 18, 2007, and this match marked their ninth clean sheet in 11 Ligue 1 games at Parc des Princes this season.
PSG Full of Confidence Ahead of Crucial Match
While the result against Metz was expected, PSG can now turn their attention to the upcoming second leg against Monaco, confident in their status at the top of Ligue 1. Should they eliminate Monaco next Tuesday, it will mark the 14th time the reigning European champions have advanced to the Champions League Round of 16.
