Wilfried Nancy finally celebrated his first victory as Celtic manager on Sunday, although it took longer than he had hoped.
After enduring four consecutive defeats, the pressure on the Frenchman was evident. However, the team managed to secure a 3-1 win against 10-man Aberdeen, thanks to late goals from Kieran Tierney and James Forrest. Despite this win, Scottish football writer Stephen McGowan suggests that “uncertainty” surrounding Nancy’s position still lingers.

“It remains a game-by-game situation, doesn’t it?” he remarked on the Scottish Football Podcast.
“Without a striker, winning games becomes incredibly challenging, and they’ve missed some very straightforward opportunities.”
“There were moments when it seemed as if Nancy was cursed by bad luck, as though good fortune eluded him. Thankfully, that finally changed.”
“But can we say he is out of the woods now? I don’t think so. The upcoming match against Livingston will be tricky, especially since they have their own issues.”
Following matches against Livingston and an in-form Motherwell, Celtic will return home to face rivals Rangers in the New Year derby.

“This win has bought him some time; if Rangers had drawn level in points or entered the Old Firm match with a chance to overtake Celtic, Nancy would have faced intense pressure,” McGowan added.
“So, it allows for a more peaceful Christmas for both him and Celtic. But does it eliminate the uncertainty? I wouldn’t say so.”
