“Xabi Alonso has placed complete trust in my ability to play in any position. I am ready to adapt to any situation, even if it means putting on the goalkeeper’s gloves,” he remarked.

“Every opportunity I get to play is an advantage for my growth. I am gaining experience in this new role, and the quicker I adapt, the better it will be for both myself and the team,” he added.

Asencio has certainly taken advantage of Real Madrid’s defensive challenges this season, as Alonso has used the opportunity to assess the young defender’s versatility.

The Spaniard expressed that the team completely backs Alonso, despite recent speculation regarding his long-term position at the club.

“The message he delivers to us is outstanding, and we hope he remains with us for a long time as he brings us great benefits,” he added.

Asencio also discussed his personal growth as a player and how he deals with fan criticism.

“I focus on playing and honing my skills. Whether fans cheer or boo, that’s their choice. My priority is to concentrate on my training and enjoy the game,” he remarked.

Lastly, Asencio reflected on Real Madrid’s busy match schedule and how a short holiday break serves as a necessary relief for the players.

“With our demanding schedule, breaks like these are beneficial, even though we thrive on a consistent routine of matches and training, which is what we truly enjoy,” he stated.
