Reports state that Rodri personally informed Los Blancos of his choice, revealing his intention to build his future at the Spotify Camp Nou. Although the decision brought disappointment, the club respected the player’s wishes.

Real Madrid initially approached Rodri after the World Cup, making an offer that seemed to position them as frontrunners.
For a period, it seemed likely that the Spain international would make the move to Santiago Bernabeu, but ultimately, he chose Barcelona.
No plans to revisit the transfer market
Despite missing out on their primary midfielder target, Real Madrid has no plans to seek another defensive midfielder before the transfer window closes, according to reports from COPE.

In terms of Rodri’s decision, the club has consistently conveyed that they won’t pursue players unwilling to wear the Real Madrid shirt.

Regarding the midfield position, Los Blancos are confident that their current roster has the quality and depth necessary for the season ahead, negating the need for further external signings.
Instead of seeking new talent, Real Madrid plans to address their needs internally.
Bernardo Silva likely to adopt a deeper role
As previously mentioned, it is expected that José Mourinho will increasingly deploy Bernardo Silva in a more central midfield role.

The Portuguese star is seen as capable of playing as a central midfielder, potentially forming a double pivot alongside one of the current squad members.

Mourinho has the option to pair Bernardo with team captain Federico Valverde, World Cup semi-finalist Aurelien Tchouameni, or his compatriot Eduardo Camavinga.
Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler are also in contention for the No. 10 position.
If Thiago Pitarch remains with the club, he could also emerge as a candidate, having impressed during the latter half of the last season.
Confident in their current squad’s versatility, Real Madrid’s management sees no necessity for additional midfield investments, despite Rodri’s move to Barcelona.
