Real Madrid Keeping an Eye…

Real Madrid has made it clear that they plan to acquire at least one new midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Manchester City’s Rodri remains a top target for the Merengues, who are also considering alternative options should they fail to secure his signature.

Indeed, Los Blancos are monitoring the 22-year-old England international in case their pursuit of Rodri falls through.

Since moving to Crystal Palace from Blackburn Rovers in 2024, Wharton has emerged as one of the top young midfielders in the Premier League.

Over the past season, he has played 56 matches, contributed one goal and eight assists, and helped his team win the FA Community Shield and the UEFA Conference League.

He provided the assist for Jean-Philippe Mateta to score the decisive goal. His exceptional passing accuracy and vision in possession stood out, earning him the title of MVP of the final from UEFA.

Despite his remarkable performance, Wharton was surprisingly omitted from England’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad by manager Thomas Tuchel. He is expected to draw interest from multiple clubs this summer, including Real Madrid.
