Relegated Burnley to face…

Relegated Burnley will host West Ham on the Championship’s opening weekend, Sunday 16 August.

Burnley, who finished 19th in the Premier League and have seen their move for Wales boss Craig Bellamy collapse, will face the Hammers, relegated on the final day.

Wolves, also down from the top flight, start the campaign with the season opener against Blackburn at Molineux on Friday 14 August.

Southampton, beginning the season on minus four points after the Spygate scandal, visit Watford, while newly promoted Cardiff host Welsh rivals Wrexham on Monday 17 August.

League One champions Lincoln travel to Middlesbrough, last season’s beaten play-off finalists, on Saturday 15 August, with third-tier play-off winners Bolton beginning at home to Preston the same day.

The Championship kicks off a week after the Carabao Cup first round and one week before the Premier League starts.
