Recent reports from El Desmarque suggest that the goalkeeper’s patience is wearing thin, labeling his move to Liverpool a failure.
“The initial plan was to sign him, loan him to Valencia CF for a year, and then bring him to Liverpool to eventually replace Alisson Becker,” the report states. “However, those hopes have not materialized, leaving him disheartened.”

Giorgi Mamardashvili officially joined Liverpool in the 2025-26 season after a pre-arranged transfer from Valencia, signing for approximately €35 million on a long-term contract as Alisson’s understudy and potential successor.

“Valencia CF is closely monitoring Mamardashvili’s next move, especially as they would receive compensation for training rights if a transfer were to take place (this allows clubs that trained a player between the ages of 12 and 23 to collect 5% of the transfer fee, with Valencia receiving 1%). Additionally, they hold a 10% stake in any future sale,” the report indicates.
